San Joaquin County Sheriff Honored

Google

...Detective Nugent is recognized for her distinguished service to the community and the Sheriff’s Office.

Detective Nugent began her law enforcement career with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in 1989, assigned to the Patrol Division. Since 2005, she has been assigned to the Sheriff’s Child Abuse Sexual Assault Unit (CASA).

Detective Nugent is a specially trained investigator who has been assigned to handle one of the heaviest caseloads in the office. CASA cases are typically the most complex and sensitive of all investigations. She is well known for her work ethic and is well respected by her colleagues for the quality of her work as well as the sincere patience and sensitivity that she shows to crime victims.

She is a law enforcement officer that truly cares for those that have been taken advantage of and never hesitates to sacrifice her personal time in order to insure that their needs are met to the fullest. In a practice of law enforcement that is infamous for quickly burning out investigators, Detective Nugent is renowned for going the extra mile of her own volition and without complaint, while pursuing her personal mission that she has to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Detective Nugent regularly trains and assists patrol personnel in Elder Abuse investigations, and she has volunteered to speak on several occasions to numerous public and private enterprises that advocate the protection of what has been called “The greatest generation”.

In spite of her tremendous schedule, this year Detective Nugent unselfishly decided to take on two massively labor intensive Elder Abuse cases when she saw a need for extensive investigation.

Detective Nugent has shown a deep-rooted commitment to the children and community in which she serves. Her dedication, compassion, high energy, enthusiasm, and love for her job make her a valuable part of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Team.

Detective Nugent was honored, along with other recipients, at the annual Awards Program Luncheon held Tuesday, May 22, 2007. The event was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Resort in South Lake Tahoe.

Note from the Editor:

Our heartfelt congratulations to Detective Nugent in receiving a well deserved honor.  Our deepest thanks to her and her fellow officers who serve to protect life and property in the French Camp area.  I often stay up late working at my computer on one project or another and often I look out my front window (I live right on French Camp Road and my front window faces the heavily traveled road) and see and sometimes hear the Sheriff’s patrol cars driving by.  I think about the men and women in uniform who patrol our roads and streets night and day and provide the tranquility that we all to often take for granted.  So again, congratulations Detective Nugent, and on behalf of the residents of French Camp, thank you..
